Live music returns to The Cameo with a very special event. Founder member of Siouxsie & The Banshees, Steven Severin, brings his live soundtrack accompaniment to THE SEASHELL AND THE CLERGYMAN to Cameo Screen One on Thursday 11 December at 9.15pm.

Tickets are now on sale for many shows of IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE including the all-important ones on Christmas Eve for which advance booking is especially recommended.

Still screening are Clint Eastwood’s CHANGELING, WALTZ WITH BASHIR (9.50pm show on Tue 16 is in Screen One), Read our Picturehouse Recommends article and SUMMER.

Finally appearing as the Euro Matinee is ROMANCE OF ASTREA AND CELADON. This has been rescheduled after the print failed to arrive at the start of November.

GFF09 is proud to announce a retrospective of silver screen legend, Audrey Hepburn. This beloved and enduringly popular icon will be represented with screenings of her classic films, all testament to her talent, style, grace and beauty.

For those with short attention spans there’s the Shorts Film Festival curated by The Magic Lantern, while the Music Film Festival promises new sights and sounds. Finally, Frightfest returns, with enough scares, spooks and screams to fill a weekend.

Add to this a strand in which we say “Viva Mexico!”, and the regular ingredients of Documentaries, Great Scots, British, European and American Independent strands.

Collective Gallery are delighted to present a joint show by Sandy Smith & Alex Gross as part of New Work Scotland Programme.

Sandy and Alex have spent the last few months travelling through the west of North America taking on the mantle of pioneers. They have been examining the alien status of the human, and more specifically the artist, in relation to the monumentality of landscape and optimistic ideology in America. The work they have made revolves around an intrusion or injection of humanity into the landscape and will take the format of video footage for the gallery show.

Sandy Smith & Alex Gross both graduated from the Glasgow School of Art.

New Work Scotland Programme is our focus for supporting emergent practice across Scotland and runs from October – January.
